Acalanes Library Homepage: Technology & Digital Citizenship

WELCOME

Welcome to the Technology & Digital Citizenship page for Acalanes High School library. On this page you will find information for the school's 1:1 device program as well as resources to support the Acalanes Union High School District's Digital Citizenship program.

If you have questions or need support with your 1:1 device, please contact the library or stop by.

1:1 DEVICE PROGRAM

The purpose of using 1:1 devices at Acalanes is to enhance learning in the classroom. The use of the mobile learning devices falls within the guidelines of the AUHSD Acceptable Use Policy and the Student & Family Agreement for Device Use. Each individual is responsible for his/her own device, which is to be used by that student only. Each family is responsible for the care of any district-issued device when not on campus as well as being responsible for any device or accessory that is lost, stolen, or damaged.

Additional Insurance Purchase Program

Parents can purchase additional insurance from Worth Avenue Insurance Group, an outside insurance provider, to cover the cost of a damaged or lost device. Keep in mind that a broken screen on a chromebook often runs $124-184; even a broken hinge can cost $68+ to repair. Insurance for the year can be purchased for around $50. Insurance policies must be purchased EACH year; they do not continue into the next school year, even if your student continues to be part of the 1:1 device program.
